Hope the coming year will be great to all of you in every possible way.

Unlike previous years, I took this photo in Baan Sam Rong Nua, Hua Sam Rong, Tha Wung, Lopburi during my field trip. This photo was taken by Panasonic Lumix FX50, compact camera. But it came out prettier than I expected.

I didn't have much time to make an e-card this year; I didn't process it neatly. Sorry for the quality. ^^"

As you can see, this is a photo of rice field. I heard rice field represents plentifulness. Therefore, I wish all of you who saw this e-card have happy, healthy, and wealthy life like plentiful rice field. :D

I've always wanted to live in Japan (temporarily). Furthermore, I want to be good at Japanese.

Now I have a plan to fulfill this wish. I will join my faculty's exchange program.

If things went well, I would study in Kyoto next year. Currently there are some issues, schedule conflict and course mismatch. Thai programs are slightly compatible with international programs. My friend once said some Thai programs are not designed for international exchange programs. :P

I'm sorting these out. Wish me luck, please. :)

I'm currently addicted to Fringe. It's an American science fiction television series. According to Wikipedia, this show has been described as a hybrid of The X-Files, Altered States, The Twilight Zone, and Dark Angel.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of The X-Files, but Fringe is not as same as The X-Files. This show is about fringe science just like its name. ;)

Fringe's third season will premiere on September 23 in the US. DVD box set of second season is available in October in Thailand. Can't wait for both of them. XD

Dream Selfy: Super Cute Avatar Generator

I got this generator from Rinoa. It's called Dream Selfy.

It is a web-based avatar generator. There are many options from head to toe including background. It's easy to use, but you have to be patient when downloading catalog. You need to scroll down to the end of the catalog tab and wait for more to appear. I can assure you there are numerous choices, if you wait patiently. ;)

I spent 1.5 hour creating this one. I tried to portray myself, but it ended up as a surreal version of me. :P

I had many childhood dreams. However, I'm going to share my most important one. It's a bit weird; it's abstract.

I want to be somebody for some people, to be meaningful for someone. I also want to contribute something positive to society or even humanity. I want to be useful and reliable; I want to be remembered that I wasn't born for nothing.

This childhood dream is still my dream. It has become root of my other ambitions. I haven't accomplished this childhood dream yet. It's only the beginning of my journey. ;)

I love my birth name, which was named by my dad. Its meaning is precious-and-delicate-like-gem heart. But I think I'm more like glass. ;)

วันนี้อยากจะแชร์บทความที่น่าสนใจหนึ่งบทความ

ช่วงนี้เรารู้สึกอึดอัดและหดหู่มาได้ประมาณ 2-3 เดือนละ เกี่ยวกับสภาพสังคมไทยในปัจจุบัน เราก็พยายามหาทางระบาย เคยพยายามเขียน blog เกี่ยวกะความอึดอัดนี้อยู่หลายครั้ง แต่ก็ไม่ได้เขียนซักที เราไม่อยากให้มันเป็นแค่ entry ระบายอารมณ์ อยากให้มีสาระบ้าง อะไรบ้าง :P

ตั้งแต่ปลายเดือนมีนาคมที่ผ่านมา เราเรียนซัมเมอร์วิชาสัมมนากฎหมายและนโยบายของรัฐเกี่ยวกับคนพิการ ผู้บรรยายคือ ศ.วิริยะ นามศิริพงศ์พันธุ์

ระหว่างที่เรากำลังไล่ดูเอกสารประกอบการเรียนที่เรายืมมาจากเพื่อนที่เรียนตอนปีการศึกษา 2550 เราสะดุดตากับบทความที่ชื่อ “อุปถัมภ์อำนาจนิยมและสิทธิมนุษยชนในสังคมไทย” ของอาจารย์วิริยะ เราพยายามหาบทความนี้ในอินเทอร์เนต แต่ก็ไม่เจอ เลยขอถือวิสาสะสแกนชีทของเพื่อนมาเผยแพร่ซะเลย :P

เนื่องจากบทความนี้ยาวพอสมควร 20 หน้ากระดาษ A4 ได้ เราเลยจะสรุปใจความสำคัญออกมาสำหรับผู้ที่ขี้เกียจอ่านอะไรยาวๆ ส่วนผู้ที่สนใจฉบับเต็มก็เชิญตามสะดวก (ลิงค์อยู่ข้างล่าง)

สรุปใจความสำคัญ “อุปถัมภ์อำนาจนิยมและสิทธิมนุษยชนในสังคมไทย”

ถ้าพิจารณากันให้ดี เราจะพบว่าคนไทยจำนวนมากยังมีมิจฉาทิฐิซึ่งเป็นความเชื่อที่ก่อให้เกิดผลในทางลบ อยู่ 2 เรื่องใหญ่ๆ คือ
1) คนไทยไม่เชื่อ ไม่ศรัทธาในความสามารถหรือสติปัญญาของตนเอง
2) คนไทยไม่เชื่อว่าคนไทยทุกคนเท่าเทียมกัน

ความเชื่อทั้ง 2 ได้ก่อให้เกิดลัทธิหนึ่งซึ่งในที่นี้ขอเรียกว่า “ลัทธิอุปถัมภ์อำนาจนิยม” มีลักษณะสำคัญๆ ดังต่อไปนี้คือ
1) ยอมรับว่าการส่งส่วย การบนบานสานกล่าวนั้นเป็นเรื่องจำเป็นที่ต้องมี
2) ทำทุกอย่างเพื่อให้ได้มาซึ่งเงินและอำนาจ
3) ทำทุกอย่างเพื่อประโยชน์ของตนและพวก
4) เอาดีใส่ตัว เอาชั่วให้คนอื่น
5) วิธีแก้ปัญหามักเริ่มต้นจากสิ่งภายนอกก่อน
6) คิดแทน ทำแทน เอาความเห็นของตนเป็นหลัก
7) คิดว่าทำไม่ได้ ก็ไม่ให้คนอื่นทำ
8) การให้ความช่วยเหลือคนพิการหรือผู้ด้อยโอกาส ใช้หลักเมตตาธรรมและเวทนานิยม ไม่ใช่หน้าที่ความรับผิดชอบ
9) เมื่อทำผิดกฎหมาย คิดได้แต่เรื่องลงโทษ

อย่างไรก็ตาม คนไทยอีกกลุ่มหนึ่งยังมีความเชื่อที่ก่อให้เกิดผลในทางบวก หรือในทางที่สร้างสรรค์ ใน 2 เรื่องใหญ่ๆ คือ
1) เชื่อว่าคนไทยมีสติปัญญา สามารถพัฒนาตนเองได้อย่างไร้ขอบเขต
2) เชื่อว่าคนไทยทุกคนเท่าเทียมกัน

ความเชื่อทั้ง 2 นี้เองที่ก่อให้เกิด "ลัทธิสิทธิมนุษยชน" ซึ่งมีลักษณะสำคัญๆ ดังต่อไปนี้
1) ถือเอาผลงานเป็นหลัก
2) ทำทุกอย่างให้สมองโต
3) มีความรับผิดชอบ
4) การแก้ปัญหาต้องเริ่มจากตนเองก่อน
5) หากเขาคิดว่าเขาทำได้ ก็ส่งเสริมให้เขาทำ
6) มีการรวมกลุ่มเพื่อแก้ปัญหาของตน ไม่รอคนอื่นมาแก้ปัญหาให้
7) ทำทุกอย่างเพื่อทุกคน
8) ร่วมกันทุำงานอย่างผู้เป็นหุ้นส่วน
9) ในการช่วยเหลือคนพิการและผู้ด้อยโอกาส มีกฎหมายกำหนดให้เป็นสิทธิของเขาและถือเป็นหน้าที่ความรับผิดชอบของรัฐบาล
10) แม้ทำผิดต้องลงโทษอย่างสร้างสรรค์

I would like to add Critical Thinking to the list of high school courses in Thailand.

In my opnion, many university students (and adults) have difficulty thinking critically. Many professors also complain about this. :P

I believe that the ability to actively and skillfully conceptualize, apply, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate information to reach an answer or conclusion is very important for every career/role in society.

Well, what is your opinion? :)

I think I'd be happy. Because I'm walking the path I chose myself to pursue my dream.

I set a rule to myself: Don't do things that you will regret later. Live a life & do the best. So when I look back, I will be proud of every moment in my life. ;)

Like last year, I wandered around my home to find something to make an e-card. There are many flowers blooming this year. So I chose พุดพิชญา or Inda for my 2010 e-card. :)

Inda means purely white flower. Thai believe that Inda brings prosperity to grower. Inda is also considered to be an auspicious tree. So I wish everybody who saw this e-card is blessed with prosperity and happiness. :D

When I am in class, I prefer to sit in front of the classroom; usually the first row. I like when there is nothing blocking my view. ;)

I can force myself to focus when I'm not interest; at least not fall asleep. :P
I often doodle or read the course material beforehand in order to keep me awake.

I believe every day can be a good day. Nevertheless, this is my answer.

My most favourite day of the week is Saturday. Why? Because Saturday is the first day of my weekend break. :D

On the other hand, I like Thursday least. Well, it's the fourth day of weekday. My energy is usually drained rapidly that day, but I have to save some for Friday. What a headache! :P

At first I thought it would be another general personality test, but it's not; it's very accurate one. It has many results: up to 16 types of personality. O_o

If you have time, I recommend you to take this test. It consists of 72 yes-or-no questions. It doesn't take you much time to answer all.

My result is INFJ or Introverted iNtuitive Feeling Judging.
